Occasion OOTD

Now is the season for special occasions such as graduation, races and weddings – and to go to these events, you just NEED the perfect outfit. Lucky for me, Boutique of Molly came to my rescue! They’re also coming to yours as they’ve given my followers an exclusive code for 20% off – just use the code ‘ROBYNLE20’ at the checkout to receive your discount ūüôā

When I was approached by BOM, I had a browse of their website and so much stuff caught my eye straight away. I liked a lot of their summery playsuits which would be perfect for holiday, or if Britain actually had a summer –¬†neither of which look like they’ll be happening for me anytime soon though, sadly. So instead the lovely ladies at BOM helped me pick a dress for¬†a day out to the races I have planned in August. BOM’s ‘Orla’ Bandage Mini Dress is the perfect outfit for me as I’ve always been a fan of body con and bandage dresses because they’re always so figure flattering (and make you feel like Kim K for a day).

I was absolutely amazed at BOM’s delivery service because my little pink parcel arrived just a day and a half after I’d picked my beautiful dress. When the dress arrived¬†I couldn’t believe how heavy it was, the quality is amazing¬†and there is definitely no chance of the dress becoming see through in this amazing material!¬†The dress absolutely speaks for itself as it has beautiful panelling detail right round the dress which helps give a slimming effect and pull in any unwanted lumps. This dress is a bit more pricey the a lot of items on the BOM website as it’s a part of their¬†luxury collection, but if you’re looking to splash out for an occasion, this dress is 100% worth it.

Here’s how I styled my dress for my #BOMselfie:

  1. Dress: Boutique of Molly, £89.95
  2. Blazer: Marks and Spencer, £29.50
  3. Shoes: Primark, £5 (fabulous little sale find!!)
  4. Bag: Michael Kors

I opted to keep my outfit on the monochromatic side to keep to the neutral tone of the dress. The only pop I added was the snake print on my bag which is still nude toned to match the dress. I chose these particular sandals as I feel this style is flattering for the legs when paired with bodycon style dresses (helping my vertically challenged self look like I have longer limbs than I actually have). The white in the sandals then matches with the blazer (which had to be added as you cannot trust British weather to be warm) which helps add a finishing touch to tie the outfit together.

You can find Boutique of Molly on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and check out their clothes collection at boutiqueofmolly.com.

Primark Mini Haul

Ever since the Primark opened in Broughton Park, I just can’t get enough of shopping there. I literally spend hours in there working my way through each department and making sure I don’t miss anything. So I thought I’d show you what I came away with on my most recent visit.

Every girl ALWAYS needs tweezers – and it just so helped that these are rose gold so how could I say no? For ¬£1 for 2 pairs of tweezers, these were an absolute bargain and actually work. Normally people say that the price reflects the quality, but that certainly isn’t true for these because they’re some of the best tweezers I’ve owned.

I’ve wanted to try the likes of the clarisonic face brushes for ages but I just can’t justify the price of them.. So when I saw this simple, hand version for ¬£1 I obviously had to at least give it a go – so far, so good! The bristles are so much softer than they look, but you can vary the pressure you use to get the desired exfoliation you want. I tend to use this with my daily cleanser either morning or night to freshen up my skin.

Next on the shopping list – shoes. Or as me and my best friend like to call them: “momflops”, super comfy sandals that you wear with everything. First off are the Harry Potter flip flops which I reeeeallllyyyy wanted, but didn’t buy. And then I ended up going back for them.. ¬£2.50 really isn’t going to hurt my bank balance, so no harm done.

Next up are the Birkenstock dupes which only cost me ¬£4!!! I’d been considering investing in a real pair of Birks this year because I got so much wear out of my H&M dupes last summer. However, thanks to the British weather I held off.. And aren’t I glad I did now?! Saved myself major pennies for a pretty convincing pair of sandals that are so comfy I can wear them throughout an 8 hour shift!

And, of course, I didn’t leave without any clothes, because that’s just not me.. I came across the cutest Game of Thrones t-shirt with this ‘Mother of Dragons’ slogan on. And as a big fan of Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of her name, the Unburnt, Queen of Mereen, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons (!!!) I couldn’t leave it there. Especially not for ¬£7!

And last, but not least, my Harry Potter nightshirt.. I went into Primark knowing full well that I wanted some Harry Potter pyjamas of some sort. I tried on different bottoms and wasn’t all that keen on the fit. I’m much more of a night shirt girl so was happy to find this on my second pyjama hunt, for only ¬£10.

That concludes this Primark mini haul! But the odds¬†that I’ll be back with another one soon are pretty high – I just can’t get enough!

March Wish List

So, I’m 4 weeks into my shopping ban – I decided to give up shopping (clothes, shoes, bags, accessories) for lent because I am¬†that¬†bad. Although I’ve stuck at it, I have been doing a bit of window shopping!

Maison Valentino Rockstud Ballet Flats

I’ve been head over heels (excuse the pun) for the Maison Valentino Rockstud collection ever since its launch. Obviously, they are way out of my price range! But I am desperately seeking a dupe version – so if anyone knows of any good dupes, please let me know!

Timberland 6inch Premium Light Grey Nubuck Mono with White Outsole

Yes, another pair of shoes. What can I say? They’re my favourite thing to buy! Ever since I saw Hailey Baldwin in a pair of grey Timberland boots, I’ve wanted a pair. I love grey as it’s a neutral colour that goes with everything. It’s also a bit lighter which means these boots would be perfect for Spring! The only thing is that I prefer the Nellie Chukka¬†boots, so I may hold out and see if they bring them out in the same colour. Also, these are ¬£160 which I sadly can’t justify.. ¬£120 (+student discount) for the Nellie Chukka boot, however, is a price I’m willing to pay.

Zoeva Rose Golden Vol.2 Complete Eye Set

I really am a sucker for pretty makeup brushes! I know in my last wishlist I mentioned the Real Techniques Bold Metals collection.. Now I’ve spotted this beautiful set of 12 eye brushes. I really want to up my eye makeup game and feel that a full set of brushes will help me do that, and I mean, you can never have too many eye brushes right?! Casually just talking myself into¬†a ¬£56.95 purchase..

#Girl Boss, Sophia Amoruso

Sophia Amoruso turned her hobby selling vintage clothing on eBay into Nasty Gal, one of the fastest growing companies in America. Her rise has been covered by major media like The New York Times, Forbes, Fortune,Inc., and The Wall Street Journal, and she has a devoted following on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. This is the sort of woman that I want to take work advice from! Which is exactly why I want to get my hands on this book on pay day!

Leave Your Mark, Aliza Licht

So, another book! This one is a careers/mentorship book from Aliza Licht who is the Senior VP (Vice President) of Global Communications for Donna Karan International and the former voice behind the popular Twitter account DKNY PR GIRL. Another successful business woman, who I’m keen to take tips from. Seeing as I want to go into the¬†PR/social media/content creation side of fashion and beauty, I think this book will be perfect for me.

Let me know in the comments if you have any of these and what you think, and please let me know if you know of some good Valentino dupes!

February Wishlist

Round Glasses:

I am a glasses wearer – or, well, more of a contact lens wearer. I’ve had my most recent pair of glasses for around 2 years now and feel like I need a new pair that’s more on trend. I am really loving the round frames that seem to be really popular. The frames are thinner and I think this is definitely more delicate and flattering for a girl. I have an eye test appointment this month so I think I will be purchasing a pair of these beauties! This way I can wear my glasses more and give my eyes a break from contact lenses.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection:IMG_1573.jpgEver since trying the Sculpting Set, I am a Real Techniques convert! So there is no surprise that I want their newest collection of brushes; the Bold Metals. As a set, these brushes are so beautiful; but realistically, I can’t justify purchasing all of the brushes in the set. I already have different versions of some of the brushes so it would be pointless. However, the main brush I am keen to try is the flat contour brush. I am not that great at contouring, and I think this brush would help me improve my contouring skills. I’ve seen YouTube beauty gurus use it for contouring and baking and they’ve given great reviews – they also looked FABULOUS. I’ve mentioned before that I want to get a loose setting powder to try out baking, and¬†I think that the flat contour brush would make a handy companion purchase!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kits:glow-kits.jpgAs my readers will probably know by now: I am a HUGE fan of highlighting. It is just a really natural makeup look that I don’t see myself falling out of love with anytime soon. Especially now Anastasia Beverly Hills has now released two gorgeous palettes! The ‘Gleam’ kit has cooler toned highlighters that are perfect for the wintery months where your tan has faded; but they are also perfect for Spring to give you a dewy, rosey look. ‘That Glow’ is all about being a glowing, bronzed goddess which will be perfect in summer! I really can’t think of any reasons not to purchase them both… Oh, wait, nowhere in the UK stocks them yet ūüė¶

32mm Barrel Curling Tong:334_image_1_heroI’ve been eyeing up the new GHD curve collection since before Christmas now! I really love long bobs styled with soft curls, which 32mm barrels create perfectly. As I’m planning on cutting my hair, I feel that I should also treat myself to a new curling tong to be able to create my desired look after I’ve washed out my hairdresser’s handiwork. GHD are known for their great quality products¬†and I feel like it would be worth investing in a curling tong that I know is going to last for years!¬†I’ve used their straighteners for years now and have never been disappointed.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you thought of them! Also, I would love to hear if you have any alternative options that you love!

January Love List

I know we’re almost 2 weeks into February now, but I just wanted to recap my favourite things from January! I have a selection of different things that caught my attention and wanted to share them.

  1. Blush Pink

2. Mauve

This may sound random, but I have had a massive¬†thing¬†about anything that is in blush pink or mauve this past month! I literally just want to have whole outfits (including makeup) in each of these colours. I feel like they’re both really feminine, and the perfect pastel colours to transition into Spring.

  1. Rosie for Autograph Make-Up

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has finally given us girls the chance to look s great as she does! Or at least we can try. She has partnered up with Marks and Spencer’s once again, and this time she’s launched¬†the most beautiful cosmetics range all in rose gold packaging. It includes eyes, face and lip products that she has been using herself (follow her on Snapchat: RosieHW). If it’s¬†good enough for Rosie, it’s good enough for me.

  2. The Lob (Long bob)

I’ve been seeing this collarbone length bob a lot recently thanks to the likes of celebrity hairstylists Jen Atkin and Riawna Capri. Their clients’ hair is always cut and styled to perfection, whether it be sleek and straight or tousled waves. I spent years trying to grow out my shorter hair, and now I’ve grown it out, I want to cut it off again. It’s not particularly long, especially seeing as I had it cut at the beginning of January.¬†I wasn’t sure whether to put this on my love or wish list, cause this is what I want from my next trip to the hair dresser’s.

  1. Selena Gomez – Hands To Myselfselena-gomez-hands-to-myselfSelena looks AMAZING in this video. I feel like she was seriously channeling Mia (Uma Therman) from Pulp Fiction – and that is never a bad thing. The song is so catchy, and it reminds me of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015.
  2. ZAYN – PILLOWTALKa6f3c23e-d2df-4b21-8b6e-32e05c4ac9aa.format_jpeg.inline_yesFirstly, GiGi Hadid is in it. That is enough to get me to love anything right now. Secondly, can we just talk about the video effects?! I mean, they’re pretty awesome – even my nana was amazed, and that’s saying a lot for today’s music! Finally, it might be pretty simple, and maybe a little repetitive, but I LOVE the lyrics. The music is so soft and I really could listen to it all day.

Both songs are pretty pop, which I’m afraid to admit I’m pretty into right now¬†(oops sorry). It’s funny because even though I said I wasn’t going to do anything Valentine’s Day related, both of these songs are pretty raunchy and definitely a perfect fit for Valentine’s celebrations.

  1. Olympus Pen E-PL7IMG_1412.jpgI saved the best for last.¬†This is 100% my favourite purchase from January! I won’t go into too much detail as I have planned to do a post dedicated to this absolute beauty of a camera, where I will show you why it is so great!

Liverpool Bloggers’ Party: OOTN

So, you’ve seen the event, you’ve seen the review bag, and now I’d like to show you what I wore!

I wanted something girly for this event, and I am loving this blush pink that is everywhere recently. I was originally going to wear a suedette midi skirt, but the invite said dressy/casual and as it was my first event I didn’t want to go OTT. So I opted for some black skinny jeans to dress it down a bit.

2. Top РNew Look, £8.99

3. Jeans РTopshop, £36

4. Bag РTopshop, £18 (get one similar at Topshop)

My whole outfit was basically put together around these shoes. I absolutely love lace up, block heels! I already have a black pair, but wanted a nude pair for when I’m wearing lighter coloured outfits.

I’ve been obsessed with Carli Bybel’s makeup tutorials recently and wanted try out a neutral, mauve makeup look that I’d seen on her channel.

Liverpool Bloggers’ Party: The Brands

At the end of my last post, I briefly mentioned the goodie bag that all 10 bloggers received at the end of the event. Now it’s time for you all to see exactly what was in the bag, and from which brands!

Liverpool Bloggers

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALiverpool Bloggers is run by Steph, who organised the whole event and put the amazing goodie bags together. She provided the Baggu bag so that all the other gifts could be kept safely together. They were all personalised with a little name tag so that we all received the right gifts off each brand. Inside we all received a hair wrap, which every girl needs so that you can let your hair dry naturally occasionally. As you can see, mine was bright pink, which I love because it’s super girly and perfect for pamper days. We also got to keep the lipstick pens that we wrote our personalised messages to each blogger with. I love mine and wish I could use it on an everyday basis, but unfortunately mine stopped working half way through my first message (sad face). I still wanted to keep it for memory’s sake though!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHere, I photographed the beautiful message cards that Steph provided for us. I thought they were so cute and creative and would be great for any one who is into crafts! I also decided to bring home a pink lip selfie prop, which again is for memory’s sake.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFinally, one of my favourite gifts from the night. This beautiful photo inso-frame. I absolutely love a good inspirational quote and this one especially. I definitely believe in following your dreams, and only doing something if you love what you’re doing! I’ve got this up next to my t.v. so that I can be inspired by it everyday.

The Vintage Corner

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFrom the Vintage Corner, we were all lucky enough to receive a ¬£10 gift voucher! I’m so happy with this because I absolutely adore vintage shops, and ¬£10 can go a long way. I’ve seen a lot of their stuff posted on Twitter so you could have a sneak peek there. If you want to check The Vintage Corner out in person, they are located at 61 St Johns Road in Waterloo, Liverpool.

As this brand is growing, more items are becoming available such as bags and more still to come. We all received 10% of our next shop at Inky Trail. Gifts For Me And You

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEach blogger received a unique, handmade gift from Gifts For Me And You. My gift was this bright, paisley patterned cushion with mini pom-poms all around the edge. This cushion suits me down to a t because I am a big fan of patchwork quilts which goes perfectly with this cushion. The colours are so fun and match my favourite duck egg blue and pale pink bed covers! We all also received 10% off our next visit, which means we can all get another beautiful gift either for ourselves or friends or family. I think I will be using mine for a gift because with them being handmade it feels like the gift can be a bit more personal. If you’d like to see what else Gifts For Me And You have to offer (from 22 crafters!) head over to 120 Seabank Road in New Brighton!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERANoctua has a gorgeous range of handmade crystal jewellery, and they also offer different crystals for luck, protection, happiness, etc. I have loved crystal jewellery for quite a while now, as I love the boho feel they give to an outfit. I received this necklace in my goodie bag, which also has a gold leaf with the crystal. I feel like this necklace has a real earthy feel to it which is great because I love all earthy and neutral toned colours at the moment! So no doubt this is going to go with all and any outfits I wear.

Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABeauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols really outdid themselves with their collection of goodies! When I was handed the personal beauty¬†bag they’d provided, I couldn’t believe the weight of it. In my bag I received the following:

Gucci Bamboo Tester: I’m a fan of Gucci perfumes anyway! I’ve previously owned Gucci Guilty and Gucci Premiere so I was excited to try this one. It did not disappoint! It has a very feminine, dusky smell – which is exactly what I want in a perfume!
Nails Inc nail varnish: This didn’t have a colour or number on it, but it is a neutral-mink-grey colour, which you already know is what I’m all about!IMG_1528.jpg
he-shi Express Liquid Tan: I go through phases of using fake tan and not using fake tan. But just because Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols gave me one, I’m gonna get back to fake tanning! This smells lovely, unlike a lot of fake tans. It has a creamy consistency which is almost like a body lotion so I’ve got a feeling this is going to be easy to apply!IMG_1524.jpg
Estes Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser, Soft Clean Silky Hydrating Lotion, and Resilience Lift Firming/Sculpting Face and Neck Cream: After removing my makeup, I’ve been using these as a three step skin care routine. Firstly, they smell unreal. Secondly, they are super soft and hydrating on the skin. Thirdly, they’ve reduced the redness and blemishing that I’m prone to. What more can you ask for? IMG_1529.jpg
Cellex-C Very High Protection Broad Spectrum Oil-Free Sunscreen: As someone who suffers from combination-oily skin, and breaks out if sunscreen goes anywhere near my face, I am extremely excited to try this! It feels almost like sudocreme, just not as thick and smells a lot nicer. It doesn’t have a strong scent at all, but it just smells like cream.IMG_1530.jpg
Environ AVST Travel Pack ((Cleansing Lotion, Moisturising Toner, Hydrating Lotion, Vitamin A, C & E Body Oil): I’ve saved what I think is the most exciting for last! I’ve heard so much about Environ skin care products recently and can’t wait to try this. The AVST range provides products contain vitamin A and antioxidants that nourish the skin. I wanted to try these and the Estee Lauder products separately so that I could get a real feel for what they do. Once I’ve finished my Estee Lauder products I will be trying and reviewing these so keep an eye out!
