Primark Mini Haul

Ever since the Primark opened in Broughton Park, I just can’t get enough of shopping there. I literally spend hours in there working my way through each department and making sure I don’t miss anything. So I thought I’d show you what I came away with on my most recent visit.

Every girl ALWAYS needs tweezers – and it just so helped that these are rose gold so how could I say no? For £1 for 2 pairs of tweezers, these were an absolute bargain and actually work. Normally people say that the price reflects the quality, but that certainly isn’t true for these because they’re some of the best tweezers I’ve owned.

I’ve wanted to try the likes of the clarisonic face brushes for ages but I just can’t justify the price of them.. So when I saw this simple, hand version for £1 I obviously had to at least give it a go – so far, so good! The bristles are so much softer than they look, but you can vary the pressure you use to get the desired exfoliation you want. I tend to use this with my daily cleanser either morning or night to freshen up my skin.

Next on the shopping list – shoes. Or as me and my best friend like to call them: “momflops”, super comfy sandals that you wear with everything. First off are the Harry Potter flip flops which I reeeeallllyyyy wanted, but didn’t buy. And then I ended up going back for them.. £2.50 really isn’t going to hurt my bank balance, so no harm done.

Next up are the Birkenstock dupes which only cost me £4!!! I’d been considering investing in a real pair of Birks this year because I got so much wear out of my H&M dupes last summer. However, thanks to the British weather I held off.. And aren’t I glad I did now?! Saved myself major pennies for a pretty convincing pair of sandals that are so comfy I can wear them throughout an 8 hour shift!

And, of course, I didn’t leave without any clothes, because that’s just not me.. I came across the cutest Game of Thrones t-shirt with this ‘Mother of Dragons’ slogan on. And as a big fan of Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of her name, the Unburnt, Queen of Mereen, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons (!!!) I couldn’t leave it there. Especially not for £7!

And last, but not least, my Harry Potter nightshirt.. I went into Primark knowing full well that I wanted some Harry Potter pyjamas of some sort. I tried on different bottoms and wasn’t all that keen on the fit. I’m much more of a night shirt girl so was happy to find this on my second pyjama hunt, for only £10.

That concludes this Primark mini haul! But the odds that I’ll be back with another one soon are pretty high – I just can’t get enough!

Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel & Spa Review

I recently visited the Brook Mollington Banastre Hotel and Spa as I had booked some treatments there for me and my best friend for her birthday.

The Health Club & Spa facilities are located towards the back of the Hotel property, but there were plenty of signs which made finding the right entrance super easy.

Upon arrival, there was a slight mix up as I had booked the 2 for 1 Spa Sensation Day and had initially been told that we would have to have our treatments separate. However, on the day we were told we would be having our treatments at the same time which we much preferred! So it turned out to be a happy mistake. This did mean we were early for our treatments, but this gave us time to enjoy the other facilities that were available.

After being directed to the changing rooms, we got spa prepared and found some loungers by the pool. To kick off our day we relaxed in the steam room for a bit which left my skin feeling so soft. Afterwards, we attempted the sauna, however, I soon realised contact lenses do not agree with saunas so I sat by the pool with my book instead.

At 11.30 we made our way back up to the reception as it was time for our treatments. We took a seat in the dining area where we were then greeted by our spa therapists. The 2 for 1 Spa Sensation Day package included a Kaeso Hot Stone, back neck and shoulder massage, a Kaeso Taster Facial including a stress melting scalp massage, and a Jessica Mini Manicure including polish. Upon arrival we had been asked to fill in a form where we indicated what sort of pressure we’d like our massages to be and any skin concerns we had, which meant our treatments were tailored to our needs.

We were both taken into individual rooms where we would receive our massages and facials. I’ve never actually had a professional massage before but I will most certainly be getting one again! It lasted approximately 30 minutes and I wish it had been longer – it was so relaxing and relieved tension I didn’t even realise I had as she worked her way up my back and neck. I have had a facial before and was really looking forward to another one. My therapist used really fruity scented products including cucumber, pomegranate and strawberry – which are just a few of my personal favourites. Once she’d completed the facial, she begun the scalp massage and as I expected, I fell asleep midway through this treatment as I was so relaxed.

Finally, we were both lead back into the same room where we were given a glass of water and received our mini manicures with a wide variety of choices of nail polish colours. I went for a shimmery, rose gold colour (’cause you can never go wrong with that) and Leus went for a coral (which she always gets!) After our manicures were completed we were taken to a relaxation room which was only lit with candles to set the mood. This room was perfect to just sit back and bathe in the ambience.

We then made our way backdown to the pool and tried out the hot tub at the therapists’ suggestion. Once again, I was more than pleased with yet another facility at this spa. Once we’d finally finished relaxing we got changed and left to get some food and to do some shopping to finish of our lovely, girly day!

I would definitely recommend this spa if you live in, or near to, the Chester area. They offer many different packages to suit different sized parties and individual needs. Head over to to find your perfect spa day!

For The Dreamers..|Birchbox

IMG_2733.jpgBack at it again with the Birchbox! This is gonna be my last Birchbox post for now though.. I decided it was time to take a break and cancel my subscription. Even though I LOVE Birchbox, I felt I was getting a lot of the same types of products and it just wasn’t wowing me as much as it used to.. Anyway, things ended on a good note as I did get a lovely little selection in my box this month:

1. Spectrum Collections ‘Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge’, £4.99IMG_2726.jpgI already have one of these wonder sponges from Spectrum Collections, but I was happy to see that I would be getting an extra from Birchbox. I’ve tried Real Techniques and Lottie London beauty sponges, and so far the Spectrum Collections is my favourite. It is the perfect combination of firm but bouncy, which makes it easy to apply and blend makeup.

2. theBalm Cosmetics Staniac in ‘Beauty Queen’, £10IMG_2728.jpgI am a big fan of multi-purpose products like this! Not only is it a lipgloss but it’s a cheek stain too. It leaves a really nice glossy colour for both purposes and would be so good as a travel product because it means you only need to take one product for lips and cheeks. I was previously disappointed with theBalm Cometics eyeshadow/blush I got in one of my Birchboxes, but I actually really like this product!

3. Beaver Professional Hydro Nutritive Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner, £11.50IMG_2729.jpgI always seem to get shampoo and conditioner combinations in my Birchboxes – even my friend mentioned how often I get them! Not complaining though because I’ve been a fan of each one I’ve received – this one including. Both products smell great and leave my hair nice and soft with a lovely shine. How I can tell if a shampoo is good is by the amount it lathers up – and this one passes the test!

4. Vasanti ‘Brighten Up!’ Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator, £26IMG_2730.jpgUsually I really like trying face scrubs.. But since discovering the St.Ives Apricot face scrub nothing quite compares. Unfortunately, this product is no exception. It is a lovely, gentle scrub that seems to nicely cleanse the face, but it just doesn’t compare to St. Ives!

5. Rituals Tao|Wai Wang Mild Exfoliating Body Scrub, £19.50IMG_2731.jpgThis product.. Is my new favourite body product. I really liked the Rituals body foam I got in my first ever Birchbox, so I was excited to receive this – I was not disappointed. For a sample product it is a really good size! It’s not full sized but I know I’ll get a lot out of it.

6. Vita Coco Coconut Oil, £9.99IMG_2732.jpgThis was a little extra I got this month! I haven’t actually used it yet, but I think I’m going to use it as a hair mask.. I’ve seen a lot of people recommend using it for your hair, so I’ll let you know how it goes!

So, for now, this is the last Birchbox post you’ll see from me! But I have a lot of other posts planned.. I’ll try not to be gone too long again!

Blooming Marvellous

‘Blooming Marvellous’ – this is the title for the lovely, Spring inspired, April Birchbox collaboration with Rifle Paper Co. I absolutely loved the design of my box this month, which was even better because you were given the choice between two! I picked the more tropical colour palette rather than the pink once simply because I thought it was so cute! Even the information booklet inside had a beautiful floral design to match the 25% off voucher that Rifle Paper Co. provided.

Parlour by Jeff Chasten Detangling Leave-In Conditioner, RRP £17

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASo obviously this is a sample size and the RRP is for the full size product, as with the rest of the products mentioned! I personally think this is generous for a sample size and I’m really pleased with it. I previously received a Parlor shampoo and conditioner in my January Birchbox and really liked them so I was happy to see this in my box! It does what it says it does and I really love the smell. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who likes this sort of spray for their hair!

Kueshi Foot Care Cream, RRP £12

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAgain, a very generously sized sample product that I’m really pleased with! It’s the perfect product for this time of year as the sandals are starting to come out. I love Tea Tree Oil so the smell of this product is fab for me. After just one use I noticed a difference thanks to this product as it really softened the skin on my feet! I’ve just been using this at night if I feel like my feet are getting particularly dry, and the next day they’re soft again.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, RRP from £17

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAYet another great sized sample! I feel like Birchbox were extra nice with their sample sizes this month. This product is described as being hair, face and body oil – however, I have only used it for my hair! I love using oil to treat the ends of my hair and this product is lovely! Keeps my hair soft and smelling really nice. The formula for this oil isn’t just your average oil! For once, I didn’t have oily residue on my hands after applying it to my hair. This makes me think that it might not be so greasy if I did use it for my face.. So I might use it for my drier areas and eyes and let you know what it’s like!

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Black, RRP £11

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI’m pretty sure that this is a full size product because its the same as any other eyeliners I’ve tried! It is amazing! It has a crayon like texture which gives it such a smooth and easy application. It also comes out pitch black rather than more charcoal like some black liners that you have to build up. Although, it is easily smudged if you want it to be so you have the best of both worlds. It did sort of smudge throughout the day, but what eyeliner doesn’t?

Benefit Cosmetics Dew The Hoola, RRP £22.50

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI was so excited about this product being in this month’s box!  had been looking at buying the full sized product until I saw this could possibly be in my Birchbox. I’m glad I managed to get a sample size before actually making the purchase because I personally feel like I would have been wasting £22.50. I normally love Benefit, but this product just isn’t for me.. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to liquid bronzer and need to practice, but I just didn’t feel like this looked good on me. I will definitely be sticking tho the Hoola powder bronzer instead!

Rifle Paper Co. Notepads

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASo, not everyone received these in their Birchbox as they were optional for an additional fee. Now anyone who reads my blogs knows that I love stationery, so this was a no-brainer. Of course I bought them. They are two, beautifully designed, A6 notepads that I can add to my collection! And no doubt I will buy more from Rifle Paper Co. in the future!

Thanks for reading, I do really appreciate it! Let me know if you’re subscribed to Birchbox, or any other beauty boxes, and what you received this month or would’ve liked to receive!

The Spectrum Collections Edit

This post is dedicated to my collection of Spectrum brushes and accessories. Since discovering this brand, I have really come to love them. They are definitely my main source for beauty tools as their products are amazing quality at such affordable prices – and BONUS, they are vegan friendly and cruelty free which is so good to see!

The Glam Clam

The first Spectrum purchase I made was last year when the Glam Clam was first released. What is so eye catching about these brushes is the beautiful colours that they come in. All of Spectrum’s brushes are fit for any mermaids and unicorns. This set of 10 cost £59.99 (including the cute clam case) which to me was a bargain. My favourite brushes out of this set are the flat top buffer, the large domed powder and the angled brow. I love and use all of the brushes, but these are the once I use daily. I actually used my flat top buffer and large domed powder so much that the handles came loose – I blame all that blending haha. Spectrum were kind enough to send me replacements (hence the fresh clean brushes standing out). This is just another reason I love Spectrum – their customer service is the best.

Tulip Powder & Tulip Eye Contour

My second lot of brushes were actually thanks to Birchbox! I received the tulip powder brush in my February box, and then purchased the tulip eye contour brush with my points. I was so excited to see Spectrum collaborating with Birchbox because it meant I could get extra goodies. I really love the tulip powder brush for applying bronzer and for highlighting my cheekbones as it applies the perfect amount of product. The tulip eye contour brush does as it says. I really love it for applying shadow to my crease for a more natural look. On the Spectrum website the tulip powder is £8.99, and the tulip eye contour brush is currently in the sale for £3.99 (instead of £5.99).

Marbleous 8 Piece Eye Set

Before the release of this set, I had had my mind set on purchasing the Zoeva En Taupe eye set as I was keen to have a full brush set so I can start experimenting with new eye looks. However, as soon as I saw Spectrum’s tweet about releasing their Marbleous Collection, I quickly changed my mind. These launched on March 24th (which was also my payday – fate, right?) alongside a 4 piece contour set which is equally as gorgeous, but I already have similar brushes! I haven’t yet used this set as I’m waiting until I can sit down and take my time to create an eye look that is worthy of their use. I can tell you that they are extremely soft which is exactly what you need when it comes to your eyes. And I already know that they will be fabulous, because, well, all Spectrum brushes are!

Brush Clam & Lilac Blending Sponge

Finally, we have come to my most recent purchase! A small, yet essential, addition to my makeup tools. There are other versions of these products available from Spectrum Collections and other brands; but in all honesty, I picked these two because they also match my Glam Clam. However, I have been looking and brush cleaning mats etc. for a while now. And I was in need of a new beauty blender. And not that I hadn’t already justified this purchase, but the Spectrum team kindly gave me a 10% off code to use on this order! The brush clam is the perfect size for even my biggest brushes, and helps to give them a deep cleanse that isn’t attainable just using your hands! It also helps prevent water going too far up the bristles which can loosen the glue and ruin your best brushes. The blending sponge is pretty self-explanatory – it’s a sponge and it blends. I just love that it matches my set! The brush clam was £8.99, and the blending sponge is in the sale for £2.99 (instead of £4.99).

I hope you enjoyed seeing my favourite collection of makeup tools! I really enjoyed writing this post as I am really passionate about the brand! So, if you’d like to see a more in depth review of the brushes/sets, let me know and I’ll dedicate a post to each set which will go more in depth!

Head over to to learn more about them and to see the rest of the accessories, brushes and sets they have available 🙂

My Top 5 Travel Bucket List

Santorini Island, Greece –

Santorini sea viewSantorini sunsetOia, SantoriniThis island is absolutely beautiful. It probably has some of the most aesthetically pleasing architecture I ever. The sea is as blue as the rooftops and I just think this would make for the most relaxing holiday. The views include a volcano and neighbouring islands; you can visit sandy or pebbled beaches; and if you explore the island you will find beautiful, domed churches that reflect the island’s culture. The fact that this island is essentially what’s left of a volcanic eruption really fascinates me and I think it would be an unforgettable experience to wander the island of volcanic rocks and visit the lagoons. I am also a massive geek when it comes to Greek mythology, so I would love to nerd up on all the history whilst I was there.

Hong Kong, China –

Hong KongHong Kong chinese boat sailing at nightFor such a big, industrial city, Hong Kong – to me – is breath taking. It amazes me that such beauty can still exist amidst all the concrete. Hong Kong is well known for its skyline and deep, natural harbour. I feel that Hong Kong speaks for itself, as it is full of things to do and places to see: the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra – you know what? The list goes on! I would really be the biggest tourist on my visit to Hong Kong because I’d want to see all the recommended places to visit, learn about the culture, and do a lot of shopping!

Las Vegas, USA –

Las Vegas Welcome Sign with Fireworks in BackgroundLas Vegas skylineI don’t think this one will come as a surprise to anyone! Casinos, restaurants, resorts, shopping – it offers everything you could wish for for an action packed get away. I would 100% want to go and see some shows as well; I mean those show dancers are an absolute dream! To me, this is more of a city break sort of holiday where you fill your timetable up with shopping, casinos and just having fun rather than it being a tourist kind of holiday. Now I’m 22, the only thing stopping me is how much it would cost. One day..

MoscowSt Petersburg.jpgRussia – where do I start? Moscow, Siberia, St. Petersburg.. I should probably just do the Trans-Siberian Express because there is that much I want to see! All the amazing architecture and old churches. I first fell in love with Russia because of Richelle Mead’s book series Vampire Academy. My favourite books out of the series are set in Russia, which lead me to do some research on everything she mentioned in the books. Ever since I have really wanted to go and travel there.

Mauritius –

MauritiusMauritius BeachMy last, and number one, place I want to visit: Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean. Extremely similar to the Maldives, Mauritius is warm and humid with endless, gorgeous beaches that have perfectly clear blue water. This island is home to so many beautiful resorts that you wouldn’t be short for choice. Although it is pricey, I think that the experience would most certainly be worth it. You can get involved in different water sports, diving and snorkelling, go to spa retreats and even shop! This would be the most perfect romantic getaway or a relaxing break with friends.

With Summer coming, I thought this would be the perfect post to do! Hopefully it will give some of you some inspiration if you still don’t know where you want to go this Summer yet. I’ve been considering doing a mini series of the top places to visit and include some of their top rated attractions – so let me know if this is something you’d like to see!

Beauty Bay|Mini Haul

I only recently discovered Beauty Bay, but since then I have had to restrain myself from spending way too much on their website! The best part about Beauty Bay for me is that it stocks hard to get brands. I am from the UK, so any international brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Gerard Cosmetics, Dose of Colours etc. are harder to get a hold of – or end up costing a bomb in shipping and customs. If you are a big beauty addict then I strongly suggest you get on their website and have a look now! For my first little lot of purchases, I stuck to brands that American YouTube gurus always seem to use, and I wanted to try out. Here’s what I got:

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion 29ml, £12.50

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis stuff is amazing for anyone who suffers from breakouts and blemishes, like I do. Recommended by Kylie Jenner on Snapchat, it has been a big hit on all ‘best skincare products’ lists of late. So, unfortunately it comes as no surprise that it is currently sold out; however, I’m sure it will be restocked soon as I can imagine it is in high demand. At first the product confused me; it has a thicker pink consistency and then a clear liquid consistency which appear to sit separately. The directions clearly stated NOT to shake the bottle, so I’m assuming the clear liquid helps preserve the pink lotion? Don’t quote me on that one though. So, I use a cotton bud to get a small amount of pink lotion which I then dot on top of any spots or blemishes. Overnight, the lotion dries out that are and helps reduce the appearance of any spots and redness. I really love this product, especially seeing as it’s the only product I’ve used that has had such fast action!

Morphe M158 Angle Liner/Spoolie Brush, £2.50

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAUnfortunately, this product is also currently unavailable.. I’m so sorry! But again, they do restock items so just keep an eye out if you do want this. Basically, I needed a spoolie to brush my eyebrows, and for £2.50 I didn’t see why I shouldn’t get this one that doubles as an Angle Liner brush – which I use to apply powder products to my eyebrows! I’m a sucker for double-ended brushes, so there was no chance I wasn’t going to get this.

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Invasion, £9.50

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI’d heard such good reviews about this liquid lipstick so decided to try one out. There are currently 11 shades available on Beauty Bay, and I chose to go for Invasion. Admittedly, on the website it looks a little less purple than what it looks like in real life. However, I was searching for a ‘greige’ lipstick, which I suppose you could say is almost lilac. I am really happy with what the colour actually looks like on though. The consistency is really soft, quick drying, and doesn’t feel uncomfortable once dried. My lips do get quite dry anyway, so liquid lipsticks do tend to dry my lips out unless I prep them properly – just a little advice for others with dry lips.

Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘That Glow’ Glow Kit, £39.00

IMG_2249.jpgOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASo, I saved the best for last! I finally got my hands on this beauty. I did have to refrain from purchasing both of the palettes, because they do both have gorgeous colours. I ended up choosing this one as I wanted these bronze tones for a more summery look. Although they are all obviously shimmery as it is a glow kit, I have used the darker tones to bronze and contour. The size and weight of this palette really surprised me when it arrived! Honestly, the value for money is incredible. Effectively £10 per product, you can’t go wrong! The pigmentation is also amazing, which I kind of expect from any Anastasia Beverly Hills products anyway. I know for a fact I’ll get my money’s worth out of this palette, because even without a tan I love how these colours look on my skin. I’m also considering doing a makeup look with this palette – as it can also double as eyeshadows! – so let me know if you’d like to see this 🙂

As always, let me know what you thought! Also let me know if you’ve tried any of these products, your views on them, and if you have any alternative options you prefer. I hope you enjoyed my mini haul! I know I haven’t done many recently as I gave up shopping (clothes, shoes, accessories) for lent. But now that’s over, expect to see one soon… Probably a combination of what I’ve allowed myself to buy since!
